Founded in 2011, Beintoo is venture backed mobile engagement provider. Beintoo has raised over $10 million in capital from Innogest, TL com and various other business ventures around the world.
Antonio is the founder, President and CEO of Beintoo. He is a consummate entrepreneur and an experienced manager with several years of experience in the Internet and mobile industry. Before founding Beintoo, Antonio worked in Dada SpA, where he was head of Products in charge of product design and performance advertising strategy. At Dada he led an international team of 30 professionals in the UK and Italy.
Prior to Dada he cofounded and was CEO of Adright, a start-up focused on innovative technology for performance advertising Adright was acquired by Dada in January 2009. He also cofounded and was CEO of PreCYdent Inc., a San Diego based start-up that created and patented an innovative algorithm for legal research. Antonio is author of several international publications on network theory and performance advertising algorithms. He earned his master’s degree in Mathematical Engineering at the Polytechnico of Milan and a double degree in Engineering Sciences at the Ecole Centrale de Paris.
In May 2013, Paul Chen joined as Beintoo’s CEO of APAC operations. Based out of the Beintoo Shanghai office, Paul focuses on the development of the company’s operations in the Asia Pacific region. Prior to joining Beintoo, Paul was General Manager, China and set up the Shanghai office for Rovio Entertainment, the creator of the highly successful Angry Birds franchise.
Paul has over 20 years of experience in video games, consumer electronics, manufacturing, retail distribution, brand management and licensing. Paul was previously SVP and GM of ZVUE Inc, a leading manufacturer in portable MP3 players preloaded with licensed music from Sony BMG, Universal Music, and Warner Bros Music. Paul also spent many years as VP and head of licensing for Performance Designed Products, the largest video game accessories manufacturer in the US, which he licensed brands from companies such as Nintendo, EA, Activision, Microsoft Xbox and Sony Playstation. Other companies Paul has worked in the past are Hasbro, Harmonix, and Game Group plc. Paul holds an MBA from University of Phoenix and is a regular speaker at many start-up and technology conferences in China and the US.
Since April of 2013, Koos Berkhout has served as Chief Marketing Officer for Beintoo. With a 20-year career in loyalty, Koos has gained hands-on experience in the development and management of some of the world's best-known loyalty brands including Nectar, Air Miles and now Beintoo.
Prior to joining Beintoo, Koos worked for CapitalOne Europe as Senior Director Marketing. Before Capital One, Koos worked for Aimia in various roles. As a founding member of the Nectar start-up team, he played an instrumental role in the design and launch of one of the world's most successful coalition loyalty programs. Nectar was acquired by Aimia (formerly Groupe Aeroplan) in 2007, creating the global leader in loyalty solutions. At Boston-based Alliance Development Group, Koos worked on co-branded credit card rewards programs for US grocers and banks including Kroger, Ahold USA, Toys'R'Us, Bank of America and US Bank.
Koos started his career at Air Miles Netherlands where he was a member of the launch team. Currently approximately 50% of Dutch households collect Air Miles at market leading brands in grocery, petrol and high street retail.
Koos has a Bachelor of Arts degree in Business Law, Banking and Finance from the Hogeschool voor Economische Studies in Rotterdam and a Master of Business Administration degree from Western Carolina University in the United States of America.
Since 2012, Mauro Pretolani has served as Beintoo’s Executive VP EMEA and Strategy. His main focus is on the growth and development of the company in the EMEA region and also on special projects.
Mauro has an in-depth knowledge of mobile and digital media technologies and services. He has been a venture capitalist and a manager in the internet and Mobile industry for over 14 years. He is an independent director of SEAT Pagine Gialle (PG.MI) and he is a Partner at TLcom, a venture capital firm that he participated in founding in 1999. Furthermore, he has taken over the management of two other venture capital funds formerly managed by Eontech and MyQube.In terms of the executive positions, Mauro has covered different roles in the past including Executive Chairman and CEO of technology companies. Prior to his VC career, Mauro was also a Manager at Bain & Company in the TMT pratice, worked in the Marketing and Treasury departments of Procter & Gamble, and holds an MBA with distinction from Harvard Business School.
Antonino joined Beintoo as CFO in October 2012. Based out of our head office in Milan, Antonino is General Manager of Operations in Italy. Prior to joining Beintoo, Antonino for worked 3 years in the Merchant Banking and Private Equity Department of Intesa Sanpaolo, the largest Italian bank, where he closed various important M&A and equity investment initiatives. Before working with Intesa Sanpaolo, Antonino worked for 5 years in a boutique M&A Company, Partners SPA, founded by the ex-dean of Bocconi University, Angelo Provasoli. Antonino holds a degree in Economics from Bocconi University in Milan.
